Every solar plant is sold on its rated capacity and judged on its delivered energy, and the distance between those two numbers is where the economics of the project actually live. Soiling, thermal derating, inverter clipping, mismatch losses and wiring resistance each take a small share, and small shares compound.
Our work starts with instrumenting that gap rather than estimating it. Once a plant is generating real data, the losses sort themselves into two piles: the ones that are cheap to fix and the ones that are structural. Cleaning schedules and string-level fault detection usually sit in the first pile; module selection and tilt sit in the second.
The practical conclusion for most commercial rooftops in North India is that soiling and heat dominate, and that a modest investment in monitoring pays for itself faster than an equivalent investment in additional capacity.
